COLLEGE PARK, Md. (DC News Now) — A 13-year-old boy was charged with a sex offense at the University of Maryland (UMD), police said Thursday.

A student told police that around 11 a.m., she was walking in that area when a “young male” walked up to her and started to ask her questions.

She said that during that conversation, the boy touched her inappropriately before running away and leaving down the hiker-biker trail.

Good. The more kids land on the registry, the easier it’ll be to bring it all down.

“…this shows the need to educate children in how to avoid violating the law]” No, this shows the “Need” to educate kids how important it is for them to not get caught doing stuff like this. 😁

While I don’t think this is the intended message, I suspect this is the one that will be received by all 13 year old boys that may engage in behaviors such as this. As a former 13 year old boy that engaged in all kinds of stuff I had been repeatedly advised not to, I speak from personal experience. 😁

Yes, it is undeniable that complying with the State’s Gun to the Head demands is the best course of action… however… as the sole goal of the compliance is to avoid the consequences… should someone find themselves out of compliance with the State’s demands… the only truly important thing would be don’t get caught! Not getting caught produces the same desired result as not doing it in the first place. However, I must stress this plan is significantly less reliable, than just not doing stuff like this! I know this from personal experience as well.

To summarize, it is best to not do stuff like this, but if someone should foolishly find themselves out of compliance with State Demands…. RUN FASTER THAN THIS KID DID! 😁

Perhaps not the intended message, but it’s the one I got. However, I am sure that I am alone in this. 😁

So, let me get this straight: A 13-year-old is too young to consent to sex with an adult but old enough to be charged for a sex offense on an adult?

Unbelievable!

Touched her inappropriately. What does that mean. If someone grabs my arm, I consider that inappropriate. This woman could be paranoid about anyone coming near her. The entire thing is ridiculous. Slap the kid with a ticket and send him on his way. The world has become seriously over sensitive.

I’m not any less appalled that a person was given unwanted physical contact, simply because the wrongdoer was a young adolescent boy. I feel there should be consequences for that action. A person’s body is his or her temple, and comes with his/her rules.

On the other hand, the fact that he is brought so far as being legally punished and, what’s more, potentially landed on the insidious, insipidly infamous registry reminds us what America’s priorities are.

There’s punishment, and then there is institutionalized corporal persecution. When will America get that through her thick head?
